DAY 6: Trusting God and Let Go

It’s the weekend. Time to kickback and reflect on your week. Have you lived it out with purpose and passion or did it get away from you and you wonder what happened? Sometimes we think that life will be better when WE are in the driver’s seat instead of God. What we are really saying is, “God, I got this! I know you made the galaxies, the planets, the world and everything in it and you created my trillions cells, all knit together to work perfectly, but I can handle my LegalShield business, my marriage, my parenting, my finances, and everything else. I got this!”

That sounds crazy to think we would ever put God out of our everyday lives. But that was me, oh yeah, I had it going on. Until of course, my marriage was falling apart, my kids were not growing up with character, our finances were in a mess, and I was running on empty. You know the drill. Survive, it’s going to get better tomorrow, something is going to change, but does it?

So this is what I learned. There is a God and I am not it! God made me, I did not make me. Why is that so hard to get? If our BMW broke down, would it go to itself or another car to get fixed. NO, it would need to go the maker of the car, a BMW dealership. If my apple phone wasn’t working, I would take it to the apple store to get it fixed. We need to take the thing that is broken back to the maker of the thing because nobody knows how to fix a product better than its maker! The problem is, when our marriage, parenting, finances, job, business, health, etc isn’t working, is our first thought to go to the one who made us? It all starts with trust. And that trust comes by knowing His character is worthy of trusting.

God says in Isaiah 55:8-9, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways HIGHER than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts!” So we don’t want to live at the low level of our own thoughts or ways. Grab onto God and let His “higher” thoughts and ways become your new way of life. He is the God of the Universe, the Alpha and the Omega, and HE alone has our backs. What are we doing trying to run our lives independent of the very source that takes pleasure in our prosperity? Duh! Our maker, like any product manufacturer, wants their product to prosper! It says in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

So, put your trust in God, the one who made you and loves you more than anyone else on planet earth. Meditate on Psalm 91 (below) and speak these promises to yourself as if God were talking straight to you, because that is exactly what is happening. We pray (we talk to God) and then God talks back to us through His Word, then we pray, and He talks back, and this is how a relationship is built, minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day. Relationships are not a one-way street. God wants to KNOW you and He wants you to KNOW Him! You are chosen and dearly loved. Talk to Him, learn of Him and you too, will trust God and let go.

ACTION STEP: Read this Psalm over and over to learn how He cares for those who trust Him.

Psalm 91 The Lord—the One We Trust
He who lives in the safe place of the Most High will be in the shadow of the All-powerful. I will say to the Lord, “You are my safe and strong place, my God, in Whom I trust.”

For it is He Who takes you away from the trap, and from the killing sickness. He will cover you with His wings. And under His wings you will be safe. He is faithful like a safe-covering and a strong wall.

You will not be afraid of trouble at night, or of the arrow that flies by day. You will not be afraid of the sickness that walks in darkness, or of the trouble that destroys at noon. A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand. But it will not come near you.

You will only look on with your eyes, and see how the sinful are punished. Because you have made the Lord your safe place, and the Most High the place where you live, nothing will hurt you. No trouble will come near your tent.

For He will tell His angels to care for you and keep you in all your ways. They will hold you up in their hands. So your foot will not hit against a stone. You will walk upon the lion and the snake. You will crush under your feet the young lion and the snake.
Because he has loved Me, I will bring him out of trouble. I will set him in a safe place on high, because he has known My name. He will call upon Me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will take him out of trouble and honor him. I will please him with a long life. And I will show him My saving power.  #‎SNL21daysofprayer‬

DAY 5: The Power of Love. The Freedom of Peace.

5

Kurt’s Story…

I believe God wants me to share the story of my cousin who lives in peace while living IN PRISON. No matter where you are or what your circumstance, it is God’s will to bring the things of His Kingdom that are in heaven, to earth! You pray it all the time, “Thy Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. “

Now, that is good news. If you’re like me, you may have been taught that all the good stuff was waiting for us when we died and went to heaven. So we live a life below our inheritance, and say, “This is as good as it gets.” Allow me to burst that ignorant bubble and introduce you to a story about the Power of His Love and the Freedom of His Peace!

My aunt and uncle, who did not know truth, raised my cousin Kurt. Therefore, their ignorance poured into my cousin and his life’s foundation was built on abuse and dysfunction, aka the schemes of the enemy. On top of being abused and totally unloved, he was abandoned and rejected at age nine and given up to the system. He was placed in 58 different institutions, from group homes, to juvenile delinquent homes, to a myriad of foster homes from age nine to age eighteen where he encountered every kind of abuse imaginable. When he got on his own, he was attracted to the wrong environment of people because of how he saw himself based on how he had been treated. Maybe you can relate to this? This environment, of course, puts him right back into prison where a gang beats him so badly he is in a coma for over a month. Life continues in these battles until he is on death row for murder.

Okay, time out. Here’s something to ponder…though this story is a fact, is it the truth about Kurt? Did God create him to be a murderer? No. Did he murder? Yes. So what is going on here? First of all, God has nothing to do with everything that has happened to him. Remember, John 10:10 says, “Jesus came to bring life and bring it more abundantly, but the thief (devil), NOT GOD, comes to steal, kill and destroy.” But if God is our deliverer, our salvation, why is this happening? It says in His Word, “Thy people perish for lack of knowledge.”

Think of it this way, imagine you are being sued wrongfully. LegalShield is available to you and ready to help you, but you don’t access it, because you don’t know the service exists. So, you end up getting a weak attorney who is ignorant of the law (the truth). There is a good chance you may perish in your lawsuit for lack of knowledge! If an attorney doesn’t know the law, how can he protect you? Likewise, there is a God available and ready to help you and bless you. But if you don’t know the laws He set up to govern your life, protect your life and even bless your life, you could go without the victory in many areas of your life.

Now, back to my cousin on death row. I get a letter from him, after not seeing or hearing from him in over 20 years, that says, “I’m going to die if you don’t give me $10,000. I didn’t do anything. I have a bad attorney, a bad warden, I was set up. I am innocent.” I pray to God for direction and God says, “He doesn’t need money, he needs me! So give him the truth about my love.”

I write to him almost weekly for a year telling him about God’s love and grace, that he was created for a purpose, and about this enemy that has ripped him off long enough. I share with him that Jesus came to set the captives free from all the hurt, pain, regret etc. Still no change. Then one day I am walking through our bedroom, and in a still small voice, God gave me three specific things to do for Kurt.

First, I am reminded of 2 Corinthians 4:4, which says, “Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.” Of course, that is why Kurt has not understood my letters filled with God’s Word. He is blind. So what do I do about that?

Secondly, I hear another verse in my spirit, 2 Corinthian 10:4 “The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.” I understand then, that I am to take this divine power I have in Jesus’ name, and call out every spirit that is blinding Kurt. It is like a supernatural love is fighting through me for my cousin Kurt to be free! I know this may be foreign to some of you, but this is exactly what happened.

And lastly, I was reminded to pray the following verse for him, Luke 10:2, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.” I then prayed that a believer would come to Kurt and speak in a way that would open his eyes and his heart. Oh, and you should also know that Kurt told me he had “tried” this religion thing before, been to church and all, and look where that got him. Remember, I wasn’t introducing him to religion, but to a God of love and of power, big difference.

Three weeks after my prayer, I get a letter from Kurt about a woman who prayed with him (yes, a woman in a maximum security men’s prison. Can you say miracle?!) She simply said, “Jesus wants to give you peace.” He was overwhelmed by the supernatural love of God and wept for 5 days straight. He experienced peace for the first time in his life. Here is the evidence of Kurt’s miracle: God led him to write letters to over 90 people asking for forgiveness for the things he had done and God restored him to his life’s purpose. For over 17 years now, he has been sharing his transformation miracle with the inmates and nearly 400 others have come to know God’s love, grace and acceptance. It didn’t change his earthly life sentence in prison, but he said to me on the phone last week, “I am not a prisoner, though I live in a prison, because Jesus has set me free!”

Kurt has been writing to the whole Hoffman family for over 17 years now. We are the first family he has ever known and we love him dearly and count him as our own.

ACTION STEP: Is there someone you need to write to and ask for forgiveness? Are you in a “prison” of some sort and want to be free? Is peace a way of life? Or maybe you know someone you can pray for like God showed me to do for Kurt? Jesus came to set the captives free! (Luke 4:19) He paid the price for Kurt and for us all to experience a freedom that comes only from His love. Let God change your heart today and fill you with His love.

PRAYER: The following prayer is the exact prayer Paul prayed for the church in Ephesus (Ephesians 3:12-20) and I wrote it out for you. Read it out loud and make it yours!

I bow my knees and pray to the Father. It is from You that every family in heaven and on earth has its name. I pray that because of the riches of Your shining-greatness, You will make me strong with power in my heart through the Holy Spirit. I pray that Christ may live in my heart by faith. I pray that I will be filled with His love. I pray that I will be able to understand how wide and how long and how high and how deep His love is. I pray that I will know the love of Christ, a love that goes beyond anything I can understand. I pray that I will be filled with the fullness of You, my God. Help me believe that You are able to do MUCH MORE than can I ask or think through Your power working IN me. May I see your shining-greatness in the church. May all people in all time honor Christ Jesus. Let it be so.

In His love,
Darcy Hoffman

DAY 4: Blessed for His Purpose

One of my favorite verses is… Romans 12:3-8 Amplified Bible (AMP)
For by the grace of God given to me, I say to every one of you not to think more highly of himself and of his importance and ability than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has apportioned to each a degree of faith and a purpose designed for service. For just as in one physical body we have many parts, and these parts do not all have the same function or special use, so we, who are many, are nevertheless just one body in Christ, and individually we are parts one of another mutually dependent on each other. Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to use them accordingly: if someone has the gift of prophecy, let him speak a new message from God to His people in proportion to the faith possessed; if service, in the act of serving; or he who teaches, in the act of teaching; or he who encourages, in the act of encouragement; he who gives, with generosity; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy in caring for others, with cheerfulness.
My parents blessed me with music, ballet, singing, and acting lessons throughout my childhood. Needless to say, those talents and skills are still very much part of who I am. I’ve been fortunate to have performed professionally as a child and as an adult. The Lord also saw to it that I have been given the opportunity to teach performance skills to both children and adults during parts of the last 50 years. Sounds unbelievable, doesn’t it? 50 years?
And more unbelievable is the fact that until three years ago I did not realize that I had sown my talents and skills for the flesh, not for the Kingdom. Wow! I had been deceived! What I thought was working for the kingdom of God was nothing more than working for the approval of man and the applause that comes with it. That applause was addictive. And, I certainly was addicted to it.
Three years ago I was introduced by my friend, Tanya Norwood, to a new church, Victory In Christ Christian Center, Deptford, NJ, whose pastor, John Edmondson, preached the Romans 12:3-8 message. He emphasized that the grace of God covers us as we believe, and how each one of us is part of the body of Christ, not the whole body in its entirety. Can you imagine thinking “you’re it”? You’re the body of Christ all by yourself? Oh, brother! What was I thinking? Maybe some of you have thought that. Oh, how I needed that grace.
Although I had accepted Christ at the age of 14, just to avoid going to Hell, I had not truly devoted myself to using my gifts and talents for the purpose of winning souls to Christ. That was the job of missionaries and pastors, the church lady and her crazy kids who were “sold out for God”! I had no clue that I was supposed to be one of them! LOLI now understand my mission and which talents and skills I am blessed with for that purpose. Nearly every morning I spend time with God’s word on the printed page, and with my TV Gospel friend, Joyce Meyer. It’s not about me anymore. It’s about how I can cooperate with God’s plan for my life to expand the Kingdom and win souls.

If you are reading this and you have never truly given yourself, your talents and your skills to God, and if it is your sincere desire to submit to His direction for the glory of the Kingdom, say this prayer.

“Father, i am so sorry that I have been living for myself all this time. Forgive my sinful desire to sow to the flesh. Thank you that Jesus Christ, Your Son, voluntarily went to the cross whereon he hung for ALL my sins. He gave everything He had to save me. His blood was shed for me. Thank you, Father God, that I am now the righteousness of God, a member of the family of God, and an ambassador of Christ to the rest of the world. Use me and my talents and gifts and skills this day for Your Glory. Amen
If you prayed that prayer for the first time, tell someone. Tell someone who will help you grow in the knowledge of Christ. Get connected to a Bible teaching church. Hang with people who believe God’s word and actually do their part in building the Kingdom of God here on this earth.

Then, pray to God. Talk to Him as a friend because He is. He will never leave you or turn His back on you. He’s there when you think He isn’t, even when you slip back into those old habits. He’s there. Lean on Him. Let Him show you His plan for YOUR life. Isn’t that a refreshing drink of sweet cold water?

Thanks for letting me share this. It has ministered to me as well.
Kind Regards,
Susan Carlin

DAY 3: Approval Addiction

You have nothing to prove, because you are approved. Easy to say but hard to believe, isn’t it? Especially in our culture today which teaches us to look for approval in all the wrong places.

Growing up, I was the oldest of three girls and grateful to be a part of an amazing family. I have two incredible sisters and parents who love us selflessly. Blessed is the word that comes to mind when I think of my family.

When I was young, however, I experienced some difficulties that caused me to struggle with my sense of worth. Throughout the course of my childhood, I found myself looking for approval through the way I looked, how smart I was, my athletic abilities, my friends, and more. My approval addiction was a continuous battle that led to hurt, frustration, and the feeling of emptiness.

Have you ever been there before? Maybe you have spent your life comparing yourself to someone else, feeling as though you may never measure up. Have you ever tried to convince yourself that you would feel approved if or when ____________ would happen? It might be a relationship you are waiting for, an income you want to reach, or weight you need to take off… and then you will feel approved. The list goes on and on.

Everywhere I look in our world today, people are trying to tell us how we should look, live, dress, believe, who we should believe in, how much money we should make, or what college degree we should have. It all sends a message that we don’t measure up the way we are. Can you say exhausting???? In a world of social media facades, it sure is easy to compare our worst to everyone else’s best. This can create serious discontentment and loneliness.

Reading this you may be thinking, yes I can relate but what is the solution…. Don’t worry, it’s coming!

Job 28:13 says, “No mortal comprehends its worth; it cannot be found in the land of the living.” Woah… Did you just read that? The Word of God, our manual for life explains that our worth CANNOT be found here on earth… period, end of story. So powerful and so profound yet why do so many spend their entire life looking for approval/worth in our worldly system.

This should set you FREE… NEWSFLASH, you don’t have to search any longer for approval or a sense of worth, because when God sent His son Jesus to die on the cross for you and me… that was Him saying, my son/daughter, I love you, you have my heart, and I approve of you!

At this point, you should be breaking out in your HAPPY dance:) This is a simple and profound truth that can radically change your life. 1 Thessalonians 2:4 says, “For we speak as messengers approved by God to be entrusted with the Good News. Our purpose is to please God, not people. He alone examines the motives of our heart.”

As I sit here typing the words that God is laying on my heart, I want to be honest with you about something. By no means do I think that I have arrived. God is working on my heart everyday as I continue to SURRENDER my life, dreams, future, goals, etc. to Him. Each day you and I must choose to focus on the promises of God and view life from the perspective of God’s approval of us. It’s not always easy. As believers, we have been given the authority to overcome the schemes of the enemy. As you grasp onto God’s love and approval of you just as you are, the enemy will do everything he can to convince you otherwise. You MUST take authority over the lies and negativity of the enemy, and claim the promises of God over yourself daily, even hourly… whatever it takes.

ACTION STEP: Here is where the fun starts… Take a moment and repeat the following out loud to yourself, encourage your family to participate as well.

I am APPROVED by God; therefore, I have nothing to prove. I am LOVED by God, and will love others the way Christ loves me. I am CALLED by God for His Kingdom purposes. I am CHOSEN for such a time as this. I am COMMITTED to reaching my God-given potential. My name is _______ and I am just getting started.

With love,
Brielle Hoffman

DAY 2: Living a Transformed Life

When we decided to do devotions for the SNL 21 days of prayer and fasting, I thought about all these beautiful things to share, because God is so beyond awesome. But for most people, life isn’t awesome and beautiful, so I decided to take you back to when that was our life too. You see, before God’s Word transformed us, our lives were a mess and falling apart. I remember when a fellow Platinum called, who knew us when our lives were a wreck and saw our transformed life, and asked, “I’ve noticed that your business has exploded and your marriage and family are so blessed, what are you doing? This was our answer…

During the first nine years of marriage, John was worldly and I was religious and both of those were not God’s desire for us. We were ignorant of God’s principles so we were “perishing for lack of knowledge”- Hosea 4:6. We followed the philosophy of popular churches without ever examining if what they taught was the full message of His gospel. Major life error! God is a God of relationship, love, grace, faith AND power, but we were taught weak religion filled with rules, not relationship, not authority, and certainly not victory. Our pastor back then would quote Dr. so and so, and psychologist so and so, and then maybe throw in one scripture. Because we were in what I now understand to be a “dead” church, the fruit of our understanding produced undisciplined kids, a lonely, strife-filled marriage headed for divorce and an unprofitable and failing business. Not a good picture, huh? This is where it gets good, so hold on.

At the very lowest point in our marriage, the miraculous hand of God led us to the truth that set us free. We met fellow believers, not just church-goers, not religious people, not philosophers, but people that actually believed what God says in His Word and lived by faith, not sight- 2 Corinthians 5:7. They taught us that when life kept going wrong in a certain area, we were ignorant of God’s truth about that area of our lives. We were reaping what we sowed (worldly ways vs Godly ways), a principle we soon learned was at the root of our unproductive life- Galatians 6:7. So the journey began, we cast out everything the world taught that did not line up with God and precept upon precept, verse by verse, principle by principle, we were transformed by the renewing of our minds, Romans 12:2. I mean transformed, nothing was the same. Our marriage flourished, our kids became beautiful leaders that reflected the heart of God, and our success increased supernaturally!

We learned that we were loved beyond anything we could understand. That because of what Jesus did on the cross, in God’s eyes, we were as white as snow, redeemed, and totally forgiven. We were literally new creations, 2 Corinthians 5:17, designed by Him and for Him! We were heirs to a kingdom and that Christ died for our salvation and SO MUCH MORE!! He also died for our family to be free from ALL the works of the devil, 1 John 3:8.

Now, here’s where it gets interesting. Just because Jesus paid the price for us to be free, didn’t mean we would be free. It is by His grace and OUR faith that things work. And faith in God comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God, Romans 10:17, not by the word of CNN, Fox News, your friends, your family, your religion etc. We also learned, in John 10:10, that we have an enemy seeking to kill, steal and destroy us. This enemy comes after our country, our city, our family, marriage, finances, health, peace, joy, love, literally everything. We were instructed in God’s Word to be alert and to know the schemes of this enemy, 1 Peter 5:8, 2 Corinthians 2:11. Maybe you, like us, are struggling in certain areas because of a lack of knowledge as to what is really going on in your life.

You see, Jesus came to bring life to you and bring it more abundantly, so as a believer, in His name, you can do something about the enemy’s attacks. When John and I learned we didn’t have to live in our present nightmare, we got militant. We put on the armor of God and with the authority of Jesus’ name, we started to battle like it says in Ephesians 6:10-18 or James 4:7. Jesus said, “It is finished” in John 19:30. That means He already did everything for our victory, now WE had to do something because faith without works is dead.

So, we took our eyes off our present reality and began to renew our minds by the word of God. Whatever God’s promises were and whatever the Word said was ours in Christ, that is what we believed, acted on and made a way of life. And over time, God’s promises became our reality! Take the journey to know this God and believe. To do that, you must renew your mind to His truth, changing your inside, and over time, you will see God change your outside. Then you too will experience the transformed life!

ACTION STEP: Whenever you are craving what you are fasting, put your attention towards God and His promises and let them begin to take root in your heart. Bonus tip: speak the promises out loud too. If you believe, then you should SPEAK!

Welcome to 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting

21 Days.png

Thank you for joining us for 21 days of prayer and fasting. We are believing with you for this to be your best year yet. Today I wanted to take a minute to share with you the power and purpose of prayer and fasting as we prepare to begin this Monday.

My journey with prayer and fasting started when I was in ministry school at Church of the Highlands in Birmingham, AL. Our pastor, Chris Hodges, would lead the congregation through 21 days of prayer and fasting every January since the church launched in early 2001. The church started with roughly 40 people and one campus to becoming the 2nd fastest growing church in America in 2015 with up to 60,000 in attendance across 14 different campuses. Can you say, WOW?! God is good! Many times Pastor Chris has been asked, “To what do you attribute the growth of your church?” and he responds, “Our commitment to prayer and fasting!”

I don’t know about you, but I would love nothing more than to see this kind of growth in every aspect of my life, including my LegalShield business. While in ministry school and during my time on staff at Highlands, I soon fell in love with the idea of prayer and fasting and can’t think of a better way to kick off the new year. I have seen personally God move in my life during these seasons more than ever before.

Many of us think of fasting as a spiritual duty to God, depriving ourselves of food and drink for a period of time in order to prove our love for Him. While trials and difficulty are a part of being human and certainly a part of being Christian, fasting should not be included when we think about “suffering for Christ.”

On the contrary, fasting is less about what we’re giving up and much more about what we’re making room for. When we fast, we exchange what we need to survive for what we need to live—more of God.

Think about the things in your life that can become a distraction and in result take away from your time with the Lord. Some examples might be T.V., social media, food (sugar, dairy, caffeine, etc), alcohol, entertainment, shopping, sports, and more. For each person, what you fast may look a little different, and that is why what you choose to fast is between you and the Lord. My mom and dad are fasting gluten for example, which means no bread, crackers, cookies, donuts or pizza, etc. They want to make sure God is their number one focus.

Since some of you might be new to the idea of prayer and fasting, I highly encourage you take an hour to watch this message from Pastor Chris Hodges called “The Declaration of Dependence,” which goes into more about the power and purpose of why we pray and fast. (Make sure to download the message notes to follow along)

https://www.churchofthehighlands.com/media/message/the-declaration-of-dependence

I have never heard the voice of God more clearly than in my time of prayer and fasting, and that is my desire for you. Many of you are believing God for different things in your life and my hope would be that you not only hear His voice loud and clear, but you receive the answers you have been looking for through His Word. Get ready! I believe and hope that this commitment will become a part of your journey for the rest of your life. I promise your life will never be the same after you take this time to give God your all.

If you have questions, please feel free to message us at Shield Nation. We are happy to help. Remember, we are on this journey with you. Can’t wait to hear all that God does in your life!

You are loved,

Brielle Hoffman

Let it be Jesus

Are we in the last days?
This is one of the most requested topics in church. My thought: “Does it matter? These are the only days we have.” Scripture says, our life is but a vapor, we are the dash on the tomb stone. 1959-?. Our life is but a mist.

Are you ready?  Our job is to keep the good news flowing, we are His earthly vessels. The Gospel of Jesus Christ who, and only who, offers the greatest gift of all time, eternal life.

Matthew 24:12 “and because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

1 Peter 4:7. But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers.

You are a citizen of Heaven. You have the DNA of Christ.

1 Peter 5:8 be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

In the last days the love of many grows cold. People will forget God.
The secret of your success, the secret to your strengths, the secret to all the wisdom you need is simple, it is all found in the Bible. “In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths.”

I’m thankful for my Kingdom warriors, we have much to do. Our strength is in Him.  Have an amazing day.

How Do You Deal With How You Feel?

It’s Cold, dreary, and rainy here in Knoxville.
Emotions run high.. Emotional seasons of life affect everyone, right???

There is one solution to the cultural woes of society. Amongst the worldly values of sex, perversion, drugs, and etc of the self-absorbed society we live in, can the CROSS be enough?????

1 Corinthians 3:3 Paul to the church, “you are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly?

Our society is full of self. The ordinary impulses and outside influences. Are you of the world or of the Kingdom?

Ahhhh, back to the Cross.

Yes, the Cross is enough.

Jesus, God in the flesh, all man.  Took all of man’s fleshly wisdom, cultural ideas, our SIN, and was crucified on the cross. He shed His blood, died for us, the sinners, the worldly, the lost, so that we would no longer be SEPARATED from the love and victory only He could offer.

So YES, the cross is enough because without Him, we are subject to the flesh. Subject to the ills of the world, and that sucks.

1 Thessalonians 5:19-24 the God of peace, Who has sanctified you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful And He will do it.

Why Play Victim?

We seem to live in a world where many people play victims. Where many people are looking  for some form
of a handout.  I’m OK with a hand up, with the opportunity to invest words into lives and potential, just not years of entitlements.

1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory (making us conquerors) through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Check this out, it’s so cool, victors! More than conquerors! That’s what the Bible says we are. The dictionary says that victory means ” final and complete supremacy or superiority in battle or war, success in any contest or struggling involving the defeat of an opponent or the overcoming of obstacles.” To conquer means “to get the better of in competition or struggle, to master, suppress, prevail over, overwhelm, surmount, to gain superiority, to subdue, to vanquish to crush, to defeat.”

With Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit, we got much more than a ticket to heaven. We got the best in respect to the world we live in now. Through Him, we can overcome, we can master, we can prevail over, and we can walk in the fullness of Christ. The gift we’ve been given is purposed for us to share with others.

Let’s empower all who are lost or playing victim, to know there is a much greater purpose for there lives.

Jeremiah 1:5. Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet  to the nations.

Share the life giving word of our amazing Father.
I love you all, bless someone today.

Whom shall I ask?
Whom shall I seek solutions from?
The world or ?????

Jeremiah 33:3.  Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

Who do you turn to when you need help, when you need an important answer to an important question? Do you ask God first?

Here’s a really good example David, in 1 Chronicles 14, seeks the Lord before he faces a battle with the Philistines. Solomon, David’s son. The wealthiest person the world has ever known, asked the Lord daily for wisdom and knowledge.

Don’t depend on guesswork. When you encounter a problem or are seeking a solution, seek the Lord through the word and in prayer, and ask him what the solution is. The Holy Spirit, our helper, our counselor, is the very one residing in you, who will guide and direct your words and steps. Walk in your rightful authority.

Bottom line; go to Him and say, Lord, what are your plans? His plans are already blessed. If you follow them, your victory is guaranteed.
I so love my 5 Kingdom Warriors.
